Execution. It’s the unspoken center of the Showtime drama The Tudors, and it’s the dramatic centerpiece of One Source’s visual solutions. Showtime needed a month of high-profile events leading up to the second season premier of The Tudors and One Source proposed our largest project yet: transforming New York’s Sheraton Hotel into the 500 year-old Windsor castle. Working under a tight deadline-three weeks from ideation to execution-One Source engineered and designed a series of weatherproof vinyl panels to cover the Sheraton’s exterior in castle brick. Torches, a four-block-long moat, and The Tudors banners completed the outdoor transformation while court guards and jesters welcomed both hotel guests and guests of honor to a branded den of iniquity inside. In the three weeks of the promotion One Source’s Tudor castle became a media event, receiving press and accolades from publications like the New York Post, Brand Media Week and Variety. By every measure it was a successful execution…of the less infamous variety.
